Description
Tin. Commemorative, metal box with hinged lid. Lid has gold coat-of-arms. Front has portrait of King Edward VII. Back of tin has portrait of Queen Mother. Both sides of the tin are same, and include circle with "ER VII".
Object History
Edward VII (Albert Edward; 9 November 1841 – 6 May 1910) was King of the United Kingdom and the British Dominions, and Emperor of India from 22 January 1901 until his death on 6 May 1910.
Marks/Labels
On lid "DIEU ET MON DROIT". Under portraits "HIS LATE MAJESTY" "KING EDWARD VII, 1901-1910.", and "HER MAJESTY THE QUEEN MOTHER". Both sides of the tin feature "ER VII".

The QUEEN'S" "SILVER JUBILEE 1952-1977" Underside of the body of the tin is a lengthy label "THIS IS...", "HISTORY" "INSTRUCTIONS" "Blended...MURCHIE'S TEA & COFFEE...VANCOUVER", "LABEL IS REMOVABLE". Information about the Murchie's company, guarantees and instructions on how to make a cup of tea are included. Underside of lid is a crown with "1977" "THE QUEEN'S SILVER JUBILEE". This is also on the inside bottom of the body of the tin.

Tin, metal box with hinged lid. Lid has coloured portraits of Prince Albert and Queen Victoria. Each side has portrait of Queen Victoria from four different years. Each portrait is framed with a gold coloured border and is surrounded by a few flowers.
Object History
On 22 September 1896, Victoria surpassed George III as the longest reigning monarch in English, Scottish, and British history. The Queen requested all special public celebrations of the event to be delayed until 1897, to coincide with her Diamond Jubilee. The Colonial Secretary, Joseph Chamberlain, proposed that the Diamond Jubilee be made a festival of the British Empire.
Marks/Labels
Lid has "Prince Albert" and "Queen Victoria" to the side of each portrait and "1837" between the portraits. Under each of the portraits on the sides of the tin are the dates "1897", "1821", "1837" and "1832". Underside of tin has partial stamp "...FRY Co LONDON" "MAKER".
