- The item is a bulk product stocked by a pharmacy. Up until the 1950s, pharmacists provided most prescription medications by creating compounds of bulk products that were given to customers as pills, salves, or tonics. Clear glass stopper bottle with gold painted label with black and red strips on sides and bottom of label. Black lettering indicating contents as "TR: STROPHAN". Addtional paper labels affixed to front of bottle: one on top of painted label indicating "Strophan" the other on bottom of painted label indicating "POISON". Bottle is nine-tenths full with light amber liquid and apparent white percipitate on the bottom.
