- Give-away baseball cap from the Bridge Film Studio in Burnaby. The cap is black with red trim, "knp" makers logo. Made in China, 100% polyester.
- Object History
- Obtained from the Bridge Studio Burnaby circa 2006. The Bridge Studios was built in 1987 on 15 acres of land that was formerly part of the Dominion Bridge bridge-building plant. From 1930 until the mid 1970s, Dominion Bridge constructed steel structures ranging from portions of the Golden Gate and Lions Gate Bridges to holding tanks for pulp mills. Several of the Dominion Bridge buildings were re-used by the studio, including the Cafeteria Building, the Boiler House, and the Compressor Building. In the mid-1970s filming began on a temporary basis in unused portions of the plant. In 1987, after lobby efforts by local film industry unions, guilds, and suppliers, the Government of British Columbia agreed to invest in renovating the site to create a permanent studio facility in order to ensure that BC had a stable base of operations for film production. The Bridge Studios, the first dedicated studio facility in Vancouver, opened for business in 1987 with television series "MacGyver" and the feature film "Stakeout" among the first productions to have used the facility.

This product is an herbal tea, made in Hong Kong since 1828. It is used to improve liver & kidney function, cholesterol, blood count, respiratory system, digestive system, urinary system, and mood.

This could posssibly be the packaging for the tea leaf that were used to prepare Shen Nong tea or it could be the tea that the shop owner/staff prepared for their own consumption. The same shop listed on the label is still operating in Hong Kong (as of 2018) at the same location.

- The label on the front of the box has product informtion in English: "Pang Yu Tai Lung Kee / No. 113 Bonham Street / Victoria. Hong Kong." Below this is more information on the tea. The side of the box has a painted design of flowers with a red box in the middles. The outline is in black, the top is rounded. Inside there are black Chinese characters. Text literally translates to English as: "a surname", "abundant, plentiful", "peaceful, most, safe, grand", "grand, intense, swell, thriving, sweet" and "remember, record". Chinese characters reveal the name of the pharmacist, Peng Yu Tai Long. It is written on the box that the effects of the tea are "removing sunstrokes and fevers and when taken after meals it would increase the power of ingestion".

Small tear near the top left corner. The 4 Chinese characters literally translate to English as: " stone, rock, lapis", "pomegranate", "fur, skin" and "slice, piece". This has been adjusted for English comprehension to: "pericarpium granati", or pomegranate. Uses: The shape and the size of each slice of pericarpium granati is irregular. The thickness is between 1.5mm to 3mm. The surface is either in brown or dark brown. It doesn not have any specific smell, but the taste is bitter. It cures diarrhea, stop the bleeding and relieve the abdominal pain.

It can be used to help stop bleeding and relieve pain. It's also used in the treatment of vomiting of blood, hemoptysis, bruises, rheumatism, lower back pain and heart disease.

- Glass rectangular prism with 3D etching depicting heavy duty trucks. Each corner of the bottom of the sculpture has a small pad. The sculpture has a branded black box for safe carrying. The box is in two parts. The exterior of both parts is covered in a black vinyl wrap, and polyester satin in the inside. The inside of each box is inset to fit on half of the sculpture. The top half of the box has a "Burnco 100 Years" logo in red, gray, white and black.

- The Burnco company was established in Calgary in 1912 as a rock and aggregate and concrete supply company. This presentation piece was presented to the City of Burnaby on the establishment of its new Burnaby based plant in the Big Bend area in 2004.

- Small maple hunting bow. A leather thong is tied to one end of the bow. It is loose at the other end, although, there is a knot that could slip over the bow. There are traces of green paint on the wood. Interior Salish: Nlaka’pamux: Spuzzum First Nation

- Homer Barnett writes about Coast Salish bows: “the main hunting bow did not differ from the one used in fighting. It was made of yellow cedar root when this wood could be obtained from the mountains. The trunk wood was also used. An alternative was yew. Inferior bows for ducks and other birds were made from hardhack. Bows were about three or four feet long/ The were rather flat and were about the breadth of three fingers at the widest parts on either side of the grip, which was constricted and slightly thicker. They tapered from the centre towards both ends. The ends were curved away from the holder for a better string purchase (1955:100)
- Plant fibres were seldom made into bow strings. More common were two-ply cords of sinew or gut. Atypically, a skin thong was used (1955:101).

- Journal; hand bound journal tied together with three ribbons along the left edge. Green coloured cardstock cover of journal includes hand drawn art nouveau style border illustration and title in black and gold; title in centre reads: "Observations / from / NATURE". Original water-soluable ink drawings of flora and fauna throughout. Nine black and white photographs of Deer Lake and "Class VI Boys" and "Farmerettes of Class VI" working in school garden are glued onto the last seven pages. Preface on page 3 of journal indicates that the content includes personal observations of the woods around Deer Lake made by the author, S. Herbert Price and is dated May 8, 1923. Content on pages within journal document the creator's observations with texts and illustrations between January 1923 and May 1923.
- Object History
- Sydney Herbert Price was born on December 18 1903 in England to Frank Price (1872-1952) and Ruth Parlour (1875-1941). He was a school teacher for the Burnaby School Board and lived at 6050 Clinton Street, Burnaby. He died in 1969. The family lived at 3113 Royal Oak in Burnaby (later renumbered to 6290). In 1906, his uncle (Herbert Price) purchased the land on which Oakalla Prison Farm was to be built on. The Price family farm grew strawberries and then raspberry canes. The business grew so big that the family hired up to 100 berry pickers to help out.

- Lapel pin, with pin back, is made of stamped brass and gold plated. The pin is shaped like a maple leaf with a ribbon across the centre. There is also a plant rising vertically across the centre of the maple leaf. The maple leaf is enamelled green with the ribbon in red. The plant is yellow. There is a small logo of crossed baseball bats in the lower left corner of the pin. The ribbon has "South Burnaby" on it and "Men's Club" appears on the leaf. "S.B.M.C. Baseball Tournament", surrounds the logo. The pin was issued by the South Burnaby Men's Club for a baseball tournament they sponsored.

- This pin was part of Councillor Jim Young's collection. Jim Young was a Burnaby Councillor for 12 years, from 1987 until 1999. During his time in office he served on 19 boards and councils and was instrumental in major developments in transportation, policing and neighbourhood development.

- Label contains characters that are literally translated to: "Gu Jing Kao Rén Táng", the brand name; "surname Ai"; "reeds"; "wind"; "wet"; "ointment/paste"; "medicine"; "to mainly treat"; "muscles"; "numbness"; "kidney failure"; "pain in the waist"; "joints"; "swollen"; "joints"; "piercing pain"; "tendon"; "bones"; "limp"; "wind"; "phlegm"; and "arthroncus of the knee". When adjusted for English comprehension, product is "Gu Jing Kao Rén Táng Gào Yào Háng Plaster for rheumatism", as per the label. It is used externally as a plaster to treat: rheumatism, muscle paralysis, kidney deficiency and back pain, swollen joints, joint pain, soft bones and muscle atrophy, phlegm syndrome due to wind, and tuberculosis of knee joints. Product is produced by "Hong Kong Xiaorentong medicinal plaster company". On the sides of the package is a mention of the shop location and some advertising, such as "stop pain fast like lightening." It is difficult of make out a full description as some Chinese characters are cut-off or hidden.
