Object History: The ARP armband belonged to Harry Cutress who was a volunteer with the Burnaby Air Raid Precautions. The Burnaby ARP wore armbands such as these.

Description: Medal, silver-coloured; Queen Victoria Jubilee 1897; front -design of Queen Victoria showing head, shoulders and two laurel sprigs; centre - coat-of-arms, surrounded by 5 circles, each with symbol at centre; hangs from decorative brass bar with blue grosgrain ribbon connecting it to similar bar at top; partial fastener on back; ribbon is hand-sewn on to the brass bars.

Object History: Part of a donation pertaining to Frederick Homer Cassels, a WWI Veterinary service army veteran.; Frederick Homer Cassels was born June 25th 1870 or 1872 in Paisley, Ontario. He moved to BC in 1914 and settled in Vancouver. Cassels was a veterinary surgeon in the 103rd Battalion of the Canadian Expeditionary Force during World War I.; Prior to that, Cassels worked in Washington State. He married Emily Frances McMullen in England in 1919. They came back to Canada and settled in Burnaby the same year.; He later worked as a marble worker, sticker and polisher at Continental Marble Works until 1932. The family settled in Burnaby's "Skunk Hollow" area, an area off Boundary Road at 13th Avenue and Clydesdale. Their children attended Schou St. School.; He passed away July 31 1948.

Description: Button pin, round, buff ground with wide brownish red border and green print. Around edge from left, "JULY / AUG / SEPT". Logo below 'AUG', illegible, "LI--HA" ?, then "1920". At bottom is brownish red dot at centre of "U.B.M.W.E.R.S.L." in circle. Pin is paper formed over a metal back and held in place by pressure. Clear coating over front. Back is dark metal with remains of pin clasp closure ?, coil of wire one side, lighter-coloured patch of metal around opening other side. Back is hollow. Manufacturer's stamp, mostly illegible, "--- CO" "--H.N.Y." and hallmark ?. Metal of back is tarnished, some scratches and wear on front.

Object History: Union dues button for the United Brotherhood of Maintenance of Way Employees and Railroad Shop Laborers which was affiliated with the American Federation of Labour. Description: Hat badge worn at the front peak of service cap. Made of bronze-coloured metal. Buffalo head emblem of the force is centre of badge with "Royal Canadian Mounted Police" around it. "MAINTIENS LE DROIT" is in the ribbon at the bottom of the badge. Two posts with loops are soldered to the reverse. A cotter pin passes through the loops and secures the badge to the hat. Note that "CANADA" doesn't appear below crown as it does on badges BV001.25.68 and .69.
