- A paper rectangular folded Army and Navy needle booklet used to hold sewing needles. The front cover of the book depicts an 1940s ocean liner (liberty ship) in blue, white red and yellow. The bow ofthe ship has an American flag and "Iowa". "The Army and Navy Needle Book" is written across the top in red and blue letters. The image is enclosed in a red pattern along the right, left and bottom. When the needlebook is open, the paper is covered with a pattern in blue ink. There are five pieces of coloured tin foil glued to the inside with small holes made by prior use of needles. Two pieces of foil are blue, two red, and one light gold colour.

The envelope was sent by Brackman-Ker Milling Company, Manufacturers and Dealers in Flour, Grain, Meals, Etc on Front Street, New Westminster. There is a green stamp on the top right corner of King Edward VII and a post mark stamp just below "NEW --/ FE 4/ 01/ B.C.". Handwritten in pencil on the reverse side is "Your Father Wants to see you here, J.L.". The envelope measures 14.5cm x 8.5cm.
