Note accompanying the photograph reads: "Dondonald School was the fourth school to be built in Burnaby (1905). Situated in the southern part of the Municipality it was built in a small clearing in dense woods. Pictured are Miss Annie Theresa Forrest and her pupils most of whom came from the families of Byrne, Woolard and Thrussell. Miss Forrest, who later taught at West Burnaby School (later Kingsway West School), retired in 1941 after teaching in Burnaby for almost 35 years. / Dundonald School was later called Fraser Arm School. The original school was built at a cost of $600. Thirteen pupils of all ages comprised the first enrolment."
