- The plate is to commemorate the Fraser Valley Milk Producers Assocation Burnaby Plant sod turning ceremony on July 26, 1962, when construction started on the new facility at Sperling and Lougheed. The plant opened in 1964, and housed the FVMPA head offices, fluid milk plant, and ice cream manufacturing division.

Top has a retractable silver steel tape with measurements in inches on one side. "Japan" engraved on base.
- Object History
- This object belonged to a sales representative for Dairyland, who lived in Chilliwack. He retired in 1978 after 40 years with the company. The Burnaby Dairyland plant was constructed in 1964 on Lougheed Highway near Sperling Avenue.

- Object History
- Postcard from the Golden Dragon Resturant which served Chinese-Canadian food. Their grand opening was September 2, 1950. The community staple was known for its neon dragon sign that advertised “Chop Suey”. One side of the kitchen served Chinese foods, while another served Canadian dishes. Chinese cuisine such as rice would be served with chopsticks, while steaks, a more western dish, would be served with knife and fork. Advertisements from the resturant and meeting notices were found in local newspapers from 1950 to 1957. The establishment was not listed in the 1966 Great Vancouver Cross-Cross Directory.

- Bomber style jacket made of dark blue nylon. The jacket was made to commemorate the 75th anniversary of Dairyland Foods.
- The jacket has a zipper closure with snap flap cover. There is a pocket on each side of the jacket and one inside in the lining. Embroidered in yellow thread on the left breast is the logo for the 75th anniversary.
- The lining is a white colour of made of polyester and nylon. Sewn in the lining at the top of the jacket is the maker's tag "TEAM SKYLINE / VANCOUVER CALGARY / BY ALPHA SPORTSWEAR LTD."

- Object History
- As a produce buyer for Kelly Douglas, Cecil Lee worked closely with local farmers along Marine Drive and in the Fraser Valley. The Burnaby company was one of the largest food distributors in Canada. In the mid-1970s, Lee was asked to oversee the import of Chinese mandarin oranges into Canada. Until that time, mandarin oranges had come from Japan and were sold in the winter, especially at Christmas. When the Japanese market could no longer keep up with demand, Kelly Douglas looked to China. The company relied on Lee’s cultural knowledge to build this very profitable part of their business. Lee designed the cardboard Chinese mandarin orange box to replace wooden containers. The iconic design required no glue or staples, making it possible for farmers to assemble and pack the boxes as they picked the oranges.

- Cheese cooler, ceramic; shaped like a cover, open at bottom; unglazed; large knob shape at top is closed to bottom but has hole at top
- Object History
- Evaporative coolers take advantage of the fact that when water evaporates, it cools the surrounding air. First, the cooler is soaked in water. The water permeates the unglazed clay. Water is also poured into a holding area at the top of the container, so that as the water evaporates and the clay dries, the water in the holding area can be absorbed into the clay to keep it wet. The wet cooler is placed over a perishable food (such as cheese or butter). As the water evaporates, the air trapped inside the container is cooled.

- Object obtained by the City of Burnaby from the Eagles Estate located within Deer Lake Park. The estate was owned by Dr. Blythe Alfred Eagles (1902-1990) and Dr. Violet Evelyn (Dunbar) Eagles (1899-1993). The couple married in Vancouver in 1930. Dr. Blythe Eagles served as dean of agriculture at U.B.C. from 1949 to 1967. Dr. Violet Eagles was one of Canada's leading enzyme chemists. More information can be found on Heritage Burnaby.
