History: The British Columbia Underwriters' Association was founded in Victoria in 1880, most likely under the name British Columbia Fire Underwriters Association. In 1928 the organisation changed its name to the British Columbia Insurance Underwriters Association, and again in 1940 to the British Columbia Underwriters Association.
