Photograph of Columbian newspaper fashion columnist Lorraine Murison standing on one side of Sine Wave, the horse that won the British Columbian Handicap race. Lorriane Murison has a bouquet of carnations in her hands and Sine Wave is covered in mud. An unidentified man stands on the other side of the horse, holding onto his bridle. Sine Wave won the 1 and 3/8 miles horse race in 2.21 minutes. (According to newspaper articles that accompany this photograph, Lorriane's last name is sometimes spelt Muirson, and sometimes Murison).
