- History
- Flossie Maude Parsons (nee Smith) was born to George Henry Smith, a farm labourer, and Harriet Ann Savage on February 13, 1896 in Ealing, England. She immigrated to Canada with some of her family members in the early 1920s. They lived in Winnipeg for a few years as an older brother had settled there in 1912. She married Herbert Russell Parsons on June 23, 1928. They first lived in Vancouver and finally bought a home at 7091 Jubilee Avenue, South Burnaby in the early 1930s. In 1943, Flossie was certified in Home Nursing. Herbert Parsons was active during the Second World War as a volunteer for Civil Defence in Burnaby and worked as a salesman for Woodwards. The couple had no children. Herbert passed away on May 23rd, 1957 (age 84) and Flossie passed away on April 6, 1996 (age 100).

- Dinner fork finished with electroplated silver, which has worn through in places. The fork is decorated in a tipped pattern on the top side of the handle. The back side of the handle has stamped hallmarks and the front side in engraved with "JCB" in script. The fork is part of a set of two forks and two spoons

- Object is part of a set of two forks and two spoons. They were inherited by Edwin Wettenhall Bateman from the estate of his father in 1924. His parents were James Bateman and Caroline (Wettenhall) Bateman (J C B) and were purchased sometime before 1891 (the year Caroline Bateman died in Hartney, Manitoba). The object was reputed to have been brought from Sandbach, Cheshire, England where James and Caroline had lived prior to emigrating to Canada.

On the outside of the board has an illustration of a container of Nugget Shoe Polish and the rules to the game. The board flips open to the playing surface which is a circus theme. The board was printed in England and designed Basil Reynolds.

The Buxton house remains a heritage landmark in Burnaby to this day. Leopold enlisted in the Canadian Infantry BC Regiment 7th Battlion during World War One. He died on April 24, 1915 and is buried at the Menin Gates (Ypres) memorial Belgium.

- Photograph shows Burnaby pioneer George Searby Buxton standing in front of a cabin. George Buxton was born in England and was a carpenter by trade. He and his wife Mary Isabel (nee Nattriss) moved to Canada between 1911 and 1913 and had five children: Clara Violet (1910-1913), Mary (1900-?), Alice Clarissa (Clissie) (1902-?), Bernard (1897-1972) and Leopold (1893-1951).
- In 1911, George built the Buxton family home on what is now Buxton Street in Burnaby. The Buxton house remains a heritage landmark to this day. This cabin may have been his residence during the period of construction on the house.
