The photograph is captioned: "The Vancouver Symphony Orchestra has grown since 1920, when this shot was taken, but one constant has been the presence of Jean Coulthard (below). The / veteran composer was at the band's first show (in 1919), performed with it during the 1930's, and honours its 75th anniversary with a special Celebration Fanfare."
