Second Class Teacher's Certificate - Certificate -- [1923]. Certificate issued by the Department of Education of the Province of British Columbia. The certificate was issued to Greta Muriel Partriquin for obtaining the qualifications for a Second Class Teacher's Certificate. The certificate is dated July 16th, 1923 and is signed by the Superintendent of Education and also the Minister of Education. There is an impression of the seal stamp for the Education Department of Victoria, British Columbia. In the middle of the stamp is a coat of arms.

Certificate of Marriage - Certificate -- [1908]. Marriage Certificate for Jón Jónsson of Vancouver BC and Lilja Einarsson of Winnipeg, MB. They were married April 29th 1908 in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The certificate has images all round the border in gold and passages from the Bible in red text. The certificate was published by Ernst Kaufmann, Lahr, Baden in New York.
Object History
Lilja and Jon moved to British Columbia in 1910. They eventually moved to Burnaby and lived on 464 Northcliffe Crescent in Burnaby with their son Harold. Jon worked at the Vancouver Shipyards as a foreman.

The Government of Canada issued these certificates to the Air Raid Precautions (ARP) volunteers who served during the Second World War. Mr. Herbert Parsons served as a ARP Warden in the Jubilee area of South Burnaby.

Third Year Course Household Science Examination - Certificate and Envelope -- [1925]. Third Year Course Household Science Examination Certificate for Nina Christina Atkinson, No. 1396. The examination was held in June 1925. Nina was tested in Composition, Literature, History, Algebra and Arithmetic, Chemistry, Physiology and Hygiene, Dietetics, French Translation, French Grammar, Cookery, Dressmaking and Millinery, and finally Drawing and Design. In red at the top of the certificate is the Coat of Arms for British Columbia and written below is "The Government of the Province of British Columbia. On the reverse side is information on supplement examinations. The certificate measures 18cm x 22cm. The envelope is brown paper addressed to Nina C. Atkinson, at 215-13th Ave., New Westminster, B.C.. The envelope has an orange King George V stamp on the top right corner and "Department of Education/ Victoria, B.C." written on the top left corner. The envelope has a butterfly enclosure and measures 19cm x 27cm.

Grade Eleven Examination - Certificate and Envelope -- [1925]. Grade Eleven Examination for Junior Matriculation Normal Entrance for Nina Christina Atkinson, No. 1396. The exam was taken in September of 1925. The only subject that Nina wrote on was History. In red at the top of the certificate is the Coat of Arms for the Province of British Columbia. Below the coat of arms is "The Government of the Province of British Columbia". On the reverse side of the certificate is information on supplemental examinations. The certificate measures 18.5cm x 22.5cm. The envelope is brown paper and was addressed to Miss Nina Christina Atkinson, 215 - 13th Ave., New Westminster, B.C.. The envelope was from the Department of Education in Victoria, B.C. and has an orange King George V stamp on the top right corner. The envelope has a butterfly enclosure and measures 19cm x 27cm.

International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons - Membership certificate -- [1892?]. Certificate made out to Miss Janet Morton for membership in the International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons. There is a facsimile signature of Edwyna B. Bridgman. The date of enrollment is October 3rd 92. At the top of the certificate is a Maltese cross with H I N in the top three arms. In the lower left side of the card is a seal type logo with the order's name around the outside and "IN HIS NAME FOUNDED 1886 - INC. 1888" inside the seal. The reverse side of the card are Extracts From Constitution. The headquarters were in New York City and annual membership fee was 10 cents. The card measures 14cm x 11.5cm.

Protection Certificate - Certificate -- [1919]. Protection Certificate for the Repatriation of Arthur Simpson of Nanaimo, BC. Arthur Simpson was a temporary officer ranked Second Lieutenant in the R.A.F. and was being repatriated from the Winchester Camp in September 1919. The certificate states that Simpson was an Engineer, was born in 1896 and was married. The document was signed by Simpson and the Repatriation Camp Officer. The certificate is 21.5cm x 17cm.
