The title page "51st Burnaby Pack / C.W.L. / 1967 - 1975" of the scrapbook includes a pen and coloured pencil illustration with an owl on a toadstool surrounded by sprites, elves and fairies. Special events are documented with photographs, newspaper clippings, newsletters, collages, illustrations and a variety of ephemera pertaining to: Enrolment Ceremonies; various donations of handicrafts; service projects; Dedication Ceremonies of the International Peace Arch; camping; Brownie and Guide Revels at James Cowan Centre, Burnaby and Queen's Park, New Westminster; Jubilee Poetry Contest for Eastburn District; Ceremony for Mrs. Clysdale; Baden Powell Day; and winning Cookie sale posters. The 51st Brownie Pack was opened on September 23, 1967 with one Brownie and 18 tweenies. Mrs. Jeanne Schneider was acting Tawny Owl and Mrs. Terry Parkin acting Brown Owl. The 51st Brownie Pack was part of the Eastburn District, Imperial Division and regular meetings were held at Our Lady of Mercy School auditorium.

- Series consists of records created during the establishment and maintenance of Sister-City relationships between Burnaby and the cities of Kushiro (Japan), Loughborough (England), El Zapotal (El Salvador), Mesa (Arizona), Gatineau (Quebec), Hwaseong (Korea), Zhongshan City (P.R. China). Records include: reports, correspondence, photographs and photograph albums, memoranda, newspaper clippings, speeches, certificates, itineraries, presentation material, invitations, agendas, and minutes. The sister city movement gained momentum in North America after the Second World War with a goal to encourage cooperation between international communities. Burnaby became a part of that movement in the hopes that sister city relationships would create meaningful industrial, economic, educational, and cultural ties between Burnaby citizens and those of other countries. Burnaby’s first sister city was Kushiro, Japan. The formal agreement for the establishment of a sister city relationship between the two communities was signed on September 9, 1965. Following this twinning, the two cities have enjoyed numerous exchanges and visits, the records of which are contained within this series. While the sister city status between Burnaby and Kushiro has endured for over three decades, Burnaby has also maintained shorter-lived relationships with Loughborough, England and El Zapotal, El Salvador. The 1986 twinning with Loughborough was undertaken to recognize the importance of that city to the history of Burnaby in that Loughborough was the ancestral home of Burnaby’s namesake, Robert Burnaby. The twinning between Burnaby and El Zapotal came after Mayor Copeland visited El Salvador in the early 1990s and returned with a desire to see the citizens of Burnaby assist in the rebuilding of that community after a 12-year civil war was brought to an end in 1992. In 1998, Burnaby entered into two North American Sister City relationships with Mesa, Arizona and Gatineau, Quebec, and in 2010, it formulated a sister city agreement with Hwaseong, Korea. In 2011, a further agreement was signed with Zhongshan, China which expanded a previous “friendship” agreement into a Sister City relationship. Series also consists of records related to Friendship Agreements with Taichung (Taiwan), Dongcheng District (formerly Chongwen District) of Beijing (P.R. China), Dongli District of Tianjin, Changshu (P.R. China), and Kunming, Yunnan Province (P.R. China); as well as Memorandums of Understanding with a number of other cities. The records in this series reflect both the actions that led up to the creation of these relationships as well as the numerous cultural, economic and educational exchanges that have been undertaken between the communities over the years.

There are 43 black pages with newspaper clippings, photographs and other paper documents mounted inside. Dates range from 1964 (Golden Jubilee for Burnaby Guides) to the end of 1967. The first page includes a handwritten notecard and envelope from Lady Olave Baden-Powell to the Burnaby Girl Guides. The letter was addressed to Pixie McGeachie and reads : "Hello Burnaby Girls! / I did appreciate / your kind thoughts / for me at the time of / your Golden Jubilee / Congratulations to you all." - Don McQueen was born September 7, 1918, in Wilkie, Saskatchewan, and was the son of Thomas Kerningham McQueen (1873-1948) and Ethel (Badley) McQueen (1889-1981) and brother to Tom Alexander McQueen (1920-1999). In 1924, Don moved with his family from Wilkie, Saskatchewan, to North Vancouver, where they lived until 1930 when they moved to Burnaby. In 1942, Don moved back to North Vancouver, and in 1951, he settled in West Vancouver. As a child, Don attended Queen Mary Elementary School in North Vancouver, followed by attending Burnaby North High School and completing a degree in Engineering at the University of British Columbia in 1948. Don married Rosina Amelia Hewett in 1942 and together they had four children: Donald James (Winnie) McQueen; Rose Anne (Wayne) McQueen; Robin Elaine (Robert) McQueen; and Robert Douglas McQueen. Following the death of Don's first wife, Rosina, in 1966, Don was married three more times, beginning with Laverne Cyr, followed by Marian Schreiber and Gregoria Noble. He had seven grandchildren: Tanja, Mark, Todd, Karina, Morgan, Anthony, and Kosal. During World War II, Don worked at Boeing Air Craft, building planes, and after the war, from 1945 until 1948, he worked at the shipyards in North Vancouver. In 1948, he joined Dairyland, which was affiliated with the Fraser Valley Milk Producers' Association (FVMPA), working as the head of Engineering until his retirement in 1980. Building the FVMPA plant, which opened in 1964, was a highlight of his career, where he was employed as the lead Engineer in creating a state-of-the-art plant located at Lougheed Highway and Sperling Avenue in Burnaby. Don spent three years directing research investigations into modern dairies and ice cream plants throughout Canada and the USA. This plant served the FVMPA for many years to come, and his dedication resulted in giving hundreds of hours of overtime for which he was never paid. The FVPMA was organized by farmers to protect the quality and price of milk. It was granted its charter on June 18th, 1913, and the organization was represented by farmers of every district in the Fraser Valley with 22 locals. In 1919, the Association purchased manufacturing plants and a milk company, and in 1920, the firm acquired another milk company and condensery. In 1923, the FVPMA became the first Canadian dairy organization to establish a quality control laboratory and employ a bacteriologist, and in 1943, the Association established Dairyland dairies. The original headquarters for the FVMPA was located at 425 W. 8th Avenue in Vancouver and as a result of FVMPA's growing success and need for expansion, a modern plant was opened in Burnaby in 1964. The four-million-dollar plant was built on a 24-acre site located at Sperling and Lougheed Highway. This location also housed the association's head office, the Dairyland Fluid Milk Division plant and offices, the Arctic Ice Cream Division plant and offices and the Concentrated Milk Division (Pacific Evaporated and Powder) sales and offices. The facility included a processing plant, service block, garage, primary and secondary mechanical and electrical services, and air conditioned office space. The general contract to build the plant was awarded to John Laing and Son (Canada) Ltd. and was overseen by the FVMPA engineering department, headed by D.R. McQueen, P. Eng. Don belonged to the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of B.C. (APEGB) from 1948, was a founding member of the Hollyburn Country Club in West Vancouver, and between 1950 and the 1960s, was a director on the board for the West Vancouver YMCA. Don had many hobbies including Russian ballet, kinesiology, drawing, photography, sailing, canoeing, and teaching ballroom dancing and downhill skiing. He competed in fencing in the Empire Games in the 1950s and was slated to canoe for Canada in the 1940 Olympics but was prevented by the war. He was a carpenter and handyman, beginning with building his first sailboat at 12 years of age, and later enjoyed building and restoring furniture. Don passed away on October 22, 2017 at the age of 99.

- Subseries consists of one scrapbook containing newspaper clippings, photographs, and notes created by the Housewives' Holiday series which took place at Bonsor Hall during the early 1960s.
- History
- The idea of having a "Housewives' Holiday" in South Burnaby originated in February of 1959 when Mary Forsyth attended a Vancouver "Y's" Housewives Holiday and wanted to create one for South Burnaby. Mary Forsyth, Ruth Turner, and Faye Reagh formed a committee in February of 1960 and began planning. Dorothy Turnbull became their treasurer in June. The Housewives' Holiday (a branch of the Clinton-Glenwood Recreation Association) series took place at the then newly renovated Bonsor Hall with events such as "Keep Fit," dancing, Judo, table tennis, and "Living and Learning" as well as guest speakers from places such as the Burnaby School Board, the Metropolitan Health Centre, as well as a nursery offered for children ages three to five. Held each Thursday from 10 am to 2:30 pm, the first session ran from October 6 to December 8 1960.

- File consists of 5 double-sided, loose pages of a scrapbook created by Sea Ranger Kathyrn "Kathy" Raadsheer (nee Hardy) who was involved in guiding in Burnaby. The first page of the scrapbook is black photo paper with a blue foil rectangle stapled to it. A rendering of the Canadian Girl Guides logo is adhered to the blue foil paper. The logo features a trefoil shaped by gold cord and the “C G G / Be Prepared" motto highlighted with gold glitter. A blue and gold folded ribbon is also adhered to the bottom of the blue foil background. The rest of the scrapbook pages contain several photographs along with bits and pieces of ephemera relating to Kathyrn Raadsheer's time as a Brownie and as a Sea Ranger in the 8th and 19th Burnaby Companies. Included in the material are newspaper clippings about the presentation of the Gold Cord to Kathy in 1965 and clippings relating to the winning of the "Cock of the Walk" pennant by her Sea Ranger crew at the 12th annual provincial Sea Ranger regatta. The pages also include Brownie and Sea Ranger badges earned by Kathy, as well as various patches and crests from Sea Ranger winter camps held in 1963, 1964, and 1965.

The scrapbook includes a photograph of the BC Council of Girl Guides at a banquet in West Vancouver community centre, a series of photographs entitled "Practical Weekend for Camper's License / Camp Olave / May 25 - 26, 1963"; a colour program for B.C. Commissioner Training in Kelowna 1965 and group portraits of Girl Guides and leaders ca. 1960. Eleanor Galbraith joined Canadian Girl Guides in 1952 in New Brunswick. She moved to BC and Burnaby Heights in 1954 where she became lieutenant in a local Guide Company. Through the years until 1985 she served as a Guide Captain, District Guider, District Commissioner and finally Division Commissioner of Burnaby Heights Division. She was a founding member of the Burnaby North Trefoil Guild and was awarded her 50 Years of Service award in 2005.

- History
- Nancy M. Bailey was the vice principal of Lord Tweedsmeer Hight School in Cloverdale, BC. In 1941, she met Laurence J. Peter, an industrial arts teacher at the school. In 1943 the couple married and in 1947 they moved to Burnaby. Laurence and Nancy had four children: two boys, John and Ted, and two girls, Alice and Margaret. The family was actively involved in the Burnaby community with Laurence and Nancy taking part in local politics and community activities and their children participating in Boy Scouts and Girl Guides and music lessons. All four children graduated from Burnaby North High School and in 1970, Ted and Alice completed their studies at British Columbia Institute of Technology (BCIT). They worked local jobs in the community including on the construction of the Burnaby Mountain Golf Course. Laurence worked as a Mental Health Coordinator (Special Counselor) in the Vancouver School System and in 1959, Nancy joined the staff at the newly opened Burnaby Central Senior Secondary School as a Math teacher. She later became the head of the Mathematics Department at the school. The couple continued their education at summer school at Washington State University in Pullman, Washington, where Nancy completed her Masters Degree in 1964 and Laurence his Doctoral degree in 1963. Laurence joined the faculty of the University of British Columbia in 1965 and received the WSU Regents’ Distinguished Alumnus Award in 1980. The couple separated in 1965 and Laurence moved to California in 1966 to teach at the University of Southern California. Nancy continued to teach at Burnaby South, until her retirement in 1978 after 30 years as head of the Mathematics Department at Burnaby Central. She was an active member of the Burnaby Historical Society for many years. Nancy passed away in Nanaimo near her family on April 21, 2013 at the age of 97.
