- Lard tin of Burns and Co., White Carnation Brand, lard. The container is cylindrical, metal with a lid; It is red with green writing and white accents. The image of a caranation flower is on the side of the tin. It has a wire, bail style, handle. The lid is stuck fast. It has slight rust and the writing is faded
- Object History
- P Burns and Company was a successful western Canada industrial and retail company. Patrick Burns was born in Ontario, and spent his early years driving cattle and ranching in Winnipeg. The expansion of the railway drew him further west and in 1890 he established an abbatoir in Calgary and further expanded into BC in 1895. The P.Burns and Company Butcher Shop still exists today as a heritage site in Port Moody. (From City of Port Moody website; more information available.)

- A "PURE CLOVES", spice tin; small thin box with label wrapped around it; orange label has blue section in midde which is framed by decorative line design, very centre of label has cream box with lettering inside.
- Object History
- The Woodward's Department Store was first established in Vancouver at the corner of Hastings and Abbott in 1903. For the next nine decades Woodward's was one of Vancouver's major department stores. It was well known for its Christmas displays and the neon “W” on the roof. Woodward's closed its Hastings Street store in 1993. Woodward's was designated a heritage building in November 1996 and the site is currently under development for condominiums. (From the City of Vancouver website, 2008).

- Clear glass stopper bottle, with rectangular base, with no stopper. White and orange, rectangular paper label is attached to the front, commerically printed, with black and white text. The bottle contains dark residue on the interior sides of the bottle, especially bottom right corner and the neck of the bottle, and small, loose pieces of material at the bottom. Discoloured, rectangular cardboard box, torn at top and missing top flap. The box is labelled on all four long faces with black and white, commerically printed text. It contains a clear glass bottle, described above, and an orange-pink sheet of instructions.

- The item is a bulk product stocked by a pharmacy. Up until the 1950s, pharmacists provided most prescription medications by creating compounds of bulk products that were given to customers as pills, salves, or tonics. Rectangular amber glass (brown) battle with black plastic screw-top lid. Contains dried, stick-like material. Commercial paper label from Royal Drug Store indicating contents in type-written uppercase as "SARSAPARILLA ROOT".

- Gateway to the Pacific - Souvenir Postcard Booklet -- [195-?]. Souvenir booklet containing an accordion style fold out with pictures of Vancouver landscapes. The landscapes include pictures of Stanley Park, Downtown Vancouver and Capilano Suspension Bridge as a few examples. The front cover has a picture of Downtown Vancouver from the water. The Hotel Vancouver is visible in the picture and there is a large boat called "Empress of Japan" in the harbour. "Vancouver, B.C." is written across the top and "Gateway to the Pacific" is written along the side. The booklet measures 14.5cm x 9.5cm when closed.
