Article refers to funds donated by the Valley View Community Centre to Burnaby General hospital for the purchase of an intensive care incubator. A cheque of $1291 was presented by Valley View charter members, Mr. and Mrs. Ken Little. The Valley View Community Centre closed in 1967 and the association was dissolved.

Photographs found in the collection of the Burnaby Village are dated 1971. George Black (1831-1896). He was born in Aberdeen Scotland, and went to California, then to the Cariboo during the gold rush. He eventually settled on Hastings Street, and was well known in the surroundings of Vancouver.
