It was produced by the City of Burnaby as a project of the Community Heritage Commission, with the support of Mayor and Council. The content for the guide was developed in partnership

to over 300 passengers who daily took the C.P.R. train via Port Moody. A partner- ship was formed in 1891 by Henry V. Ed- monds, Benjamin Douglas, John A. Webster, and David Oppenheimer, who believed that a railway linking the two largest mainland cities would prove to be a most profitable venture
