- B.C. Electric Railway - Ticket; Pass -- [1912]. Punch card ticket for the British Columbia Electric Railway Company from Vancouver to Central Park. The ticket pass was good for 50 fares during 31 days from the date of issue. The ticket was non-transferable and was issues to G.C. Barclay on March 18, 1912. The ticket is number "2484". On the left side of the ticket is a grid from 1 to 50. Each square in the grid has been punched with various shapes. The ticket was also stamped with "Vancouver", "Central Park" and "Apprentice" three times around the ticket. On the back of the ticket, it restates the rules and regulations of the pass. The back has also been stamped twice with a round stamp that says "B.C. Electric Railway Vancouver, B.C./ MAR/17/1912". The ticket measures 10.5cm x 6cm.

- Trophy in the shape of a cup with handles on either side, with two lawn bowling figures one on the front and back. The trophy is mounted on a round wooden base. On front "FRANK BOWSER TROPHY/ PRESENTED TO/ LOWER MAINLAND/ LAWN BOWLING CLUB/ FOR/ ANNUAL RINK COMPETITION/ 1923"; on back "1923/ WON BY/ CENTRAL PARK/ J.FINLAYSON./ J.KERR./ G.WHITE./ W.GRADDON./ PRESIDENT"
- Object History
- Object originated with the Burnaby Lawn Bowling Club. The "Frank Bowser" presenting the trophy was Kerrisdale resident Francis "Frank" Bowser. He was a member of the Kerrisdale Lawn Bowling Club, ca. 1918, and was elected President of the Lower Mainland Lawn Bowling Association in 1919. The Bowser trophy was awarded to the winner of a competition between the various Lower Mainland bowling clubs. Each team entering had to be skippered by the president of that club. The winning team for the 1923 cup was from the Central Park Club in Burnaby (The Vancouver Sun - 16 Dec 1923). Francis "Frank" Bowser (1857-1929) came to Vancouver around 1885 and went to work with Dominion Customs, retiring in 1908 as chief landing waiter. He was elected reeve of Point Grey in 1912 and served two terms in office. His brother was former B.C. premier W.J. Bowser. (see Obituary in The Vancouver Sun - 26 Sep 1929).

- History
- Burnaby's first May Day celebration took place on Saturday May 23, 1925 in Central Park. The May Queen and her court were chosen by "lot" in Burnaby Muncipal Council chambers with candidates submitted from Burnaby's public and high schools. Names were placed in a silk hat and Burnaby Reeve Alexander K. McLean drew the successful candidates. Ruth Bearn from Riverway West School was chosen as queen and Agness Kilgour from North Burnaby High School was chosen as Princess Burnaby. Candidates chosen for the Queen's court included First Maid of honour, Jessie Gungeon (Kingsway West School); Second Maid of Honour, Margaret McCallum (Schou Street School) and Third Maid of Honour, Eileen Jacques (Armstrong Avenue School). Candidates chosen for the Princess Burnaby court included, First Maid of Honour, Nellie Mitchell (North Burnaby High School); Second Maid of Honour, Lucretia Adair (South Burnaby High School) and Third Maid of Honour, Louis Lister (South Burnaby High School). Frank Harcourt (Riverway East School) was selected as Earl Marshal; Leo Rowley (Douglas Road School) was selected as First Page; Bertie Telford (Schou Street School) was selected as Second Page; Victor Bennett (Capitol Hill School) was selected as First Herald and James Clogg (Edmonds Street School) was selected as Second Herald.

- Wilhelmina (Mina) George was the second female pharmacist in BC and ran the West Burnaby Pharmacy.
- Elsie Impett (later MacDonald) was born in 1902 in England. Her family setted at Fenwick Avenue, Burnaby. She worked as a clerk and married James MacDonald in 1923 in New Westminster.

- History
- The Burnaby Lawn Bowling Club began in West Burnaby in 1914. On December 1, 1937, the club amalgamated with the Ladies Central Park Club to create the Burnaby Lawn Bowling Club at Central Park. By that time, the Burnaby Lawn Bowling Club had already won a number of British Columbia Lawn Bowling Association tournaments and trophies. The joint executive of the Men's and Ladies' Burnaby Lawn Bowling Clubs formed the Building Fund and Social Committee in 1945 with the purpose of collecting funds to improve the clubhouse and green. The committee remained active throughout the 1950s and 60s. In 1973, under the new title of South Burnaby Lawn Bowling Club, the constitution and by-laws of the club were established.

Arthur Lobley is sitting in the front, and the rest of the group are standing behind him. They are identified as (left to right) Mrs. A. Lobley (Dolly) in hat, Winnie Patterson, Emma Sully, and Jimmy Fitzpatrick. Beside them, a dog, identified as "old Dan" is sitting and looking towards the group. An annotation on the back of the photo reads: "I will send you some snaps of the wedding if they come out O.K."
- History
- Arthur Lobley immigrated to Canada in 1892. He married Dora Cooke (identified as Mrs. A. Lobley in photograph), likely in England. Arthur worked for the CPR and the couple lived at 2619 Marlborough Avenue in Burnaby. Along with his brother, Charles, Arthur was an early resident of the Central Park neighbourhood of Burnaby. According to George Green's book, "History of Burnaby," pg. 134, the Lobleys were an early pioneer family in Burnaby. Arthur Lobley is credited for opening the Royal Oak Road to the tram station at Royal Oak in 1897. Dora's aunt, Emma Sully and her husband John Sully were lodgers at the Lobley house on Marlborough Street. Dora's cousin, Winnifred Davis Patterson was also a lodger until her marriage to Carl Anderson in 1940.
