The Green Timbers was a famous roadway that went through Surrey and by the 1920s it was known as the only remaining stretch of virgin forest all the way from California to British Columbia. In more recent years, this area in Surrey has been declared an urban forest park.

- In 1935 the announcement that the California-based Standard Oil Company was going to build a huge "million dollar" refinery in Burnaby was greeted with cheers by residents who were eager for employment and good news during the Great Depression. The refinery, named Stanovan (aka: Standard Oil - Vancouver) was officially opened in 1936 with the ability to produce 2000 barrels per day. During World War Two, the capacity of the refinery doubled to assist in the war effort. In 1976, the company's name was changed to Chevron Canada Limited.

The awning is similar to the awnings shown in The bus has the word "Pacific Sta __ / LTD" visible in the rear window (Pacific Stage Lines, owned by B.C. Electric Company, consolidated bus service in the Fraser Valley from July 1, 1926). This bus is a model built by the Fogel Bros, California and used by other transportation companies also owned by B.C. Electric.
