book ‘Bygones of Burnaby’, the first Burnaby
School Board consisted of three trustees (each
school had a school board) elected in 1892 by
early settlers who wanted a school built. Some
of their children were already in their teens

In fact, he eventually designed the masthead that was used on the B.C. Electric Company’s
publication“The Buzzer,” the first issue of which appeared in April 1916.
