- Word for word translation of Chinese characters is as follows: ashen or gray, method. This has been altered for English comprehension to "Atractylodes Rhizome". Known as Atractylodes Rhizome, is it is the rhizome of Atractylodes lancea (Thunb.) DC or A. chinensis (DC.) Koidz. It is harvested int he spring and autumn. - Chinese characters on label, which literally translate to "mountain, hill" "thatched(hut) roof", "puncture vine" "a surname" and "mushroom". English translation is "Pseudobulb of Appendiculate Cremastra". Uses in Chinese medicine: Pseudobulb of Appendiculate Cremastra is normally found on the mountains or the humid area around the trees. Product is variously coloured abalone. The Haliotis diversicolor, H. discus, H. ovina are from coast of Guangdong, FUjian and Hainan provinces in China. Slightly salty taste. For liver meridian.
