1934 and 1939, Burnaby acquired another petroleum
refinery, a brick and glass company, and a Ford assembly plant on
Kingsway. In 1938, Burnaby sold the Barnet Mill (expropriated through
tax default) to businessman Kapoor Singh Siddoo, who used a Caucasian
agent to overcome restrictions against sale
