- The tools included in this donation belonged to Samuel Robins. Samuel and his wife Sarah Ann Robins moved to Burnaby in 1918. Samuel was a stonemason who worked on many projects in the Lower Mainland, including constructing houses in Shaughnessy and he also worked in the Vancouver City Hall.

- "The Buzzer" was a weekly newsletter published by BC Electric Railway Co. and distributed on busses and streetcars. It gave weekly updates for transporation in the region. This Vol 40, No 16, for April 20, 1955. It is a special edition entitled "Rails to Rubber" and outlines the progress of the company and transporation from 1890 to 1955 when Street Cars were replaced with Busses. - Slow Poke - Sheet Music --[1951]. Sheet music for the song "Slow Poke" composed by Pee Wee King, Redd Stewart and Chilton Price. The music was published by Ridgeway Music Incorporated and Empire Music Publishers at 624 Columbia Street New Westminster BC. The front cover has a blue pattern and a photograph of Bert Pearl. The back of the cover has an advertisment for Empire Music Publishers. The music cost 50 cents to purchase. The sheet music measures 23cm x 30cm.

- Autograph Book - Booklet -- [1915]. Autograph book produced by Rose & Co at 44 Above Bar, Southhampton. The book was a gift to Mrs. Orman from the Teachers and Children of All Saints Sunday School, Eastleigh, Southhampton, upon her departure to Canada. The first four pages lists all the teachers and children's names. The front cover of the book is green with two painted purple flowers and "Autographs" embossed in white on the bottom right.
- Object History
- This accession appears to be connected to the Orman family. Ada Leila Orman was born June 2, 1901 in Eastleigh, Hampshire, England. According to the 1915 Census, the Orman family came to Canada in 1911 and settled in Calgary. Father Willoughby Henry Orman is listed there as working as a C.P.R. foreman, while mother Daisy Marie (Harklett) Orman worked at home. Older sister Daisy Hilda (Targett) Orman, worked as a stenographer. At five years old Leila began a long fight with a crippling type of rheumatoid arthritis. By the time she was thirteen, she experienced completely ankylosed joints. Her family travelled all over hoping to find a cure, but to no avail. While living in Calgary, Leila developed an interest in painting, knitting, and composing her own poems. She began writing news articles for the Calgary Daily Herald in the 1930s, and her first sonnet published was in that paper on August 28, 1934. She had a strong interest in the arts, often writing about music and the visual arts. While living in Calgary, she became a member of the Business and Professional Women’s Club as well as a member of the Canadian Author’s Association. Three members of the family moved to B.C. when Willoughby retired, ca. 1938. In the 1940 BC Directory, the family are listed as living at 407 Campbell Street, Burnaby. Willoughby died in Burnaby in 1945. Daisy Marie died in 1955 after living 15 years in Burnaby. Her address at the time of her death is listed as 407 Rosewood Avenue, Burnaby. Leila was living with her at that time. Older sister Daisy Hilda married Edgar Harold Targett in 1922. They moved to B.C. from Alberta some years after the other three members of the family (ca. 1962). Daisy Hilda died in 1972. Her address at the time of her death was 7969 Rosewood Avenue, Burnaby. Leila wrote on a typewriter with two sticks to type out the letters. She was an avid reader and was able to turn the pages with a special stick with elastic bands wound around the ends. Canadian novelist Maida Parlow French became her lifelong friend and encouraged her to write her own autobiography - unfortunately it was never finished. Leila wrote “The Giving Heart” in October of 1948. By 1952, she was writing a column for the British Columbia Saturday Magazine entitled “Across the Board” with the intention of inspiring other “incapacitated folk” to live up to their full potential, “If [she] could reach a few people, and encourage them to reach up and out, [she] should feel the effort well worthwhile.” A member of the St. Alban’s Prayer Healing Fellowship group, Leila wrote the “Christian Manifesto for World Peace” in 1963. The Prayer Group met twice monthly at one of the members’ homes and undertook to pray daily for the sick and for world peace. After Leila’s mother died in 1955, Leila’s friend Jeanie Brown kept house for her and was her constant companion. Jeanie Brown and Leila lived together for over thirteen years until an accident sent Leila to hospital and later to nursing home where she died on February 16, 1976.

The company was part of the Fraser Valley Milk Producers Association with the head office in Vancouver, BC. The label has a four Chinese Characters on one side of the label along side the English lettering. Label, paper, white; red "HOMOGENIZED" "PACIFIC" "EVAPORATED MILK", blue "REG'D BRAND" "VITAMIN D INCREASED" "ONE POUND NET WEIGHT" "15 IMPERIAL FLUID OUNCES", horizontal oval picture, coloured, of cows grazing, farm, mountains behind; narrow border top and bottom of vertical stripes; front and back are same except one has 4 Chinese characters in red, 2 either side, in "Evaporated Milk" area; two sidebars separated from front? by gold stripe; both begin "PACIFIC UNSWEETENED EVAPORATED MILK", one lists vitamin information, at bottom is "PACIFIC MILK DIVISION" "FRASER VALLEY MILK PRODUCERS ASSOCIATION" "HEAD OFFICE: VANCOUVER, B.C., CANADA"; other has "1" "EVAPORATED MILK" and information about method of production, logo at bottom in blue of totem pole in front of maple leaf, "MADE IN B.C."

- Wille's Bakery - Calendar -- [1976]. Calendar produced for Wille's Bakery in Victoria BC, as a promotional item around Christmas time. The calendar is for the year 1976 and has a picture of a heard of cattle in a field. The calendar folds out and provides information for home freezing fruits and vegetables. There is a different recipe for every month. The back of the calendar has a picture of Christmas bells and holly. When folded up the calendar is 21cm x 18.5cm and when folded out the calendar is 21cm x 55cm.

- Protection Certificate - Certificate -- [1919]. Protection Certificate for the Repatriation of Arthur Simpson of Nanaimo, BC. Arthur Simpson was a temporary officer ranked Second Lieutenant in the R.A.F. and was being repatriated from the Winchester Camp in September 1919. The certificate states that Simpson was an Engineer, was born in 1896 and was married. The document was signed by Simpson and the Repatriation Camp Officer. The certificate is 21.5cm x 17cm.

- Prevent Forest Fires - Leaflet -- [191-?]. Leaflet distributed by the British Columbia Lands Department Forest Service. The front of the leaflet has a quote "England Expects Every Man to Do His Duty. Do Yours: Prevent Forest Fires." Above the quote is a cluster of pine branches and cones that have been tinted with colour. The leaflet includes information on forest fire prevention and why BC forests are vital to the empire. There is also a brief history of the Union Jack and instructions on how to make the flag and hoist the flag. On the centre page is a fold out picture of the Union Jack.

- Nipple topped stone maul. Nipple topped stone maul. It has a crack through the entire shaft and the two halves look of different colour and stone type. There is a large chip missing along the crack.
- Object History
- The donor was of European decent and was given this maul by an unidentified person. In general, hand mauls are used in woodworking todrive antler wedges or spreading sticks into logs and split planks. They were also used in combination with chisels for detail work. Their presence at an archeological site is viewed as evidence of long term habitations. They are associated with house building, canoe building, housepost and welcome figure carving. Nipple top hand mauls are identified as Marpole Culture (400 BC - 400 AD).

- BC Electric Slack - Ticket. Cream coloured ticket with overall red pattern, writing and borders. The ticket is for "Slack" and was good for one fare at 4 for 45 cents. Near the top of the ticket is the number "702049". On the back the ticket states that the it is good for use in Vancouver or Burnaby on Sundays and Holidays between 4am and 12am and other days between 9am and 4pm.
