The area looks wooded with tall grasses growing to the right of the photograph. An annotation on the back of the photo reads: "Pictures taken at the old ranch, year 1911 / My first team of horses - Barney and Frank." The ranch is the old Gilley Brothers Ranch that his father purchased in 1906.
