- Civil Defence Canada - Certificate -- [1945]. Certificate awarded to Herbert Russell Parsons as a volunteer worker for Civil Defence in the war. In the middle of the certificate is a gold seal from the Department of Veteran Affairs. The certificate is dated September 5, 1945.
- Object History
- The Government of Canada issued these certificates to the Air Raid Precautions (ARP) volunteers who served during the Second World War. Mr. Herbert Parsons served as a ARP Warden in the Jubilee area of South Burnaby.

- certificate; buff paper with decorative border on front, with text reading: "This is to Certify that / Dorothy Pitman / has been Enrolled a B P Girl Guide..."; back has decorative border of knots, with enrollment details and information of badges earned; "B.-P. GIRL GUIDES ENROLMENT CARD. / Name.....Dorothy Pitman / Company....1st Burnaby / Date of Enrolment.....February 1919"; signed by Agnes Baden Powell.
- Object History
- Certificated belonged to Dorothy Pitman who was a Girl Guide in the 1st Burnaby Company. She was known to be involved with guiding from 1919 to 1931. Textual records and photographs of the Pitman family, including one of Dorothy and her sister Gwen, are held by the City of Burnaby Archives. Dorothy and Gwen's parents, Ernest and Jean Pitman, owned McKay Dry Goods and Jubilee Dry Goods.

- International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons - Membership certificate -- [1892?]. Certificate made out to Miss Janet Morton for membership in the International Order of the King's Daughters and Sons. There is a facsimile signature of Edwyna B. Bridgman. The date of enrollment is October 3rd 92. At the top of the certificate is a Maltese cross with H I N in the top three arms. In the lower left side of the card is a seal type logo with the order's name around the outside and "IN HIS NAME FOUNDED 1886 - INC. 1888" inside the seal. The reverse side of the card are Extracts From Constitution. The headquarters were in New York City and annual membership fee was 10 cents. The card measures 14cm x 11.5cm.
