Description
uniform hat, Sea Rangers; sailor hat; stiff, brimless white coated textile hat. Black ribbon tally around base with text reading: “SEA RANGERS” with GG trefoil logo. Black twill chin strap. Green and red textile strips sewn into cap interior, possibly to indicate starboard and port sides. Blue textile sweatband and blue plastic lining. "MADE IN ENGLAND". Masking tape label inside hat lining with text in blue ink reading: "KATHY HARDY / C-6-157-001-8". Liquid staining on top of hat.
Object History
Ranger uniform (1960's) belonging to Kathy Hardy Raadsheer. She was an active Brownie, Girl Guide and Sea Ranger. Worn with white blouse, red maple leaf tie/scarf, macrame lanyard, hat (sea ranger-white or land ranger-navy), navy skirt or pants.

Description
British Columbia Corrections Service peaked hat. The hat is a summer style. It has black open- weave sides with a black peak, the hat fabric is khaki coloured. There is a brass hat badge with the BC Provincial crest. There is a black chin strap that rests on the top of the peak. Each end is held in place by a silver button with an embossed crown on it. The lining is red and the makers label is inside.

Salvaged from Oakalla Prison site, October, 1991.

Description
uniform jacket; BC Electric driver's jacket; slate blue wool, waist length with adjustable waist band, long sleeves. Six black buttons down front. Three front pockets, two hip flap pockets with black button closures, and one chest patch pockets with faux flap black button closure. Two inside pockets. The jacket forearms are reinforced on the outside and back is tailored with expansion vents. Label at the hem of the jacket reads: "GORDON CAMPBELL LTD. / VANCOUVER, CANADA"; lines on label in typewritten text reading: "Mr. [ill.] W. OHL / Date NOV/57 / No. 4[ill.]492 GN 2906". There is an elongated hexagonal crest sewn on the left breast with an illustration of a bus and text reading: "SERVICE / COURTESY / BCE". "1 / 707" is a beige paper dry cleaning tag stapled to the right inside pocket. c. 1950's.
Object History
Donor's husband was a BVM volunteer who worked on the restoration of the 1223 Interurban tram. He started working with BC Electric right out of the army after World War II. He first drove the trams until they stopped running, then he switched to driving buses. In 1962, he began working in the rail yard.
