- History
- Mrs Bate was a church choir singer. In 1976 she was asked to help form the Confederation Singers at the North Burnaby Confederation Seniors Centre. She started the choir and conducted it until her retirement in 1986. The costume, as seen in several photographs and also in the Burnaby Vilalge Museum collection, was made by members of the choir who made similar 1890's period costumes for themselves. The choir sang in seniors centres and at special events at Century Park (now known as the Burnaby Village Museum). They were also invited to sing at Government House in Victoria.

- Photograph of an office desk inside Way Sang Yuen Wat Kee & Co., 1620 Government Street, Victoria. The wooden desk holds large, deep drawers underneath on each side. A bottom shelf rests underneath the table and drawers held by the table legs. On top of the desk is a desk pad with a pad of receipts or order form on it. The left inner corner of the desk holds an adding machine. The ledge holds a 4 x 6 framed picture of a sail boat, just above the adding machine and a contraption screwed on the back of the desk that holds a nibbed pen. The right most corner of the desk has a dark col., capped bottle that might appear as an ink bottle. Hanging above the the desk is a light bulb.
