framed collage; red velvet matte secured over wood with masking tape; wood frame with gold painted highlights. Five colour photographs of the Burnaby Rascals singing group are adhered to the front. Carved wood text reading: "BATHURST / WELCOMES BURNABY/ SENIOR CITIZENS" is sewn to the backing board with red wool. Two illustrated colour stickers are adhered to the front, one reading "SAINT JOHN / REVERSING FALLS" and the other reading "FREDERICTON, N.B.". Adhered in the centre is a painted wood carving of two clasping hands. The center photograph is dated "1971-1981" on the front in blue ink.
Object History
The Burnaby Rascals were a musical therapy group started at the Bonsor Centre for Seniors. They performed a vaudeville variety show throughout B.C. in the 1970's.

Green and red textile strips sewn into cap interior, possibly to indicate starboard and port sides. Blue textile sweatband and blue plastic lining. "MADE IN ENGLAND". Photograph of a house identified by accession register, catalogue record and inscription as the Patterson house, possibly built in 1890s. This house was located either on Patterson Street (where the family first lived in Burnaby) or Edmonds Street (where they later moved to). The photograph is taken from a living room, looking towards a reading room. The living room has a fireplace with a mantle decorated with framed photographs. Through a wide doorway is shown a reading room with long drapes over the window, a piano, and a chair with an antimacassar. Photograph shows Leopold George Buxton at age eight. Leopold was the son of George Searby Buxton and Mary Isabel (nee Nattriss). Born 28 Feb 1893 in Reading England, he came to Canada with his parents in ca. 1911. He was a painter by trade and was educated at Kendrick School Reading and Queen Mary's School Basingstroke Hants. Leopold enlisted in the Canadian Infantry BC Regiment 7th Battlion during World War One. He died on April 24, 1915 and is buried at the Menin Gates (Ypres) memorial Belgium.

medallion; gold-coloured, with a gold and light blue ribbon and a straight clasp; small white and light blue enamelled dogwood pin secured to ribbon; medallion has B.C. 1971 Centennial logo on the front (three c's back to back with a dogwood in the centre), with text reading: "British Columbia Centennial '71 Pioneer". British Columbia coat of arms on the back, with text reading: "Province of British Columbia Canada".
