- Purse, metal beaded, bronze irridescent; drawstring; loops for cord also beaded.
- Object History
- Florena (or Floriana) Bird was born in Toronto in 1882 to Joseph Bird and Alice Pill. She married Orval Elsworth Butler, a cabinet maker and carpenter in 1928. She worked as a clerk until her marriage at age 44. The couple moved to Burnaby in the 1930s. Orval died at age 79 in 1941. Florena died in 1973 at age 90. The Orval Butler and his first wife, Catherine, likely built the house at 8006 Government Rd. Catherine (spelling unknown) died and left Orval a widower before his marriage to Florena. Florena later lived in the house. The contents of the house were donated to the Burnaby Village Museum upon her death as part of her estate.

- Brownie uniform (1935-1964) lighter brown colour; this Brownie [unknown] earned the "Golden Hand" (top award). Would be worn with brown wool beret, brown tie secured behind neck with reef knot, and brown leather belt. BV015.36.1 to BV015.36.4

- tray; a First Nations made, basketry tray; low sides and two raised handles opposite each other; decorative star or flower pattern woven into the bottom in varying shades of brown; multiple areas of loss around outer sides of rim.
- Object History
- The tray and two baskets (see BV017.11.3 and BV017.11.4) were acquired by the donor's grandparents, Matilda and Robert William Handel, when they were living in North Vancouver. They were made by one of the local First Nations weavers, name unknown.

- uniform dress, Brownie; light brown, long-sleeve cotton uniform dress, collared, two (2) light brown buttons with GGC & trefoil logo at neck, two tab epaulettes at shoulders with light brown button closures, two breast flap pockets with light brown button closures, tag inside collar reads: “OFFICIAL UNIFORM / GIRL GUIDES / ASSOCIATION / STORES DEPARTMENT / TORONTO, CANADA” with beaver logo. 4 year star pinned to left pocket flap. 'Fairy' six emblem over right breast pocket and 'Golden Hand' and 'Golden Bar' over left breast pocket. "46th BURNABY" stripe and two brown 'Sixer Stripes' sewn to left sleeve. Badges sewn vertically on right sleeve include: Needlework (scissors), Housekeeper (broom), Thrift (bee) and Knitter (wool & knitting needles).
