- Folder with two brochures, titled, Official Closing Oakalla Prison - [1991]. Dark grey report folder, "OFFICIAL CLOSING / OAKALLA PRISON / (L.M.R.C.C.) / 1914 - 1991" printed label glued to the front. The folder contains a one page, double sided copy on blue paper of the tour schedule titled, "CLOSURE TOUR GUIDE / OAKALLA PRISON FARM / LOWER MAINLAND REGIONAL CORRECTIONAL CENTRE / 1914-1991..." with historical background and a copy of a four page booklet "OFFICIAL CLOSING TOUR" with site map and information about buildings. Brochures were made available during the official Closing tours of the Oakalla site and buildings between July 15 and July 28th, 1991.
- Object History
- After Oakalla closed in 1991 and was scheduled for demolition, tours of the facility were made available to the public. This brochure was handed out to visitors when touring Oakalla in 1991. The brochure was collected by a former prison guard and Assistant Project Manager when the prison was scheduled for demolition.
