Sell More Bread - Advertisement Flyer -- [192-?]. Advertising flyer for artistic cards promoting bread. The cards are supposed to inform the public that bread is the ideal food. The cards are produced by "The British Baker" at 38 Shoe Lane, London England. The flyer states that six of the cards can be purchased at 5/-. The flyer measures 21.5cm x 28.5cm.

Description
Robertson's Chocolates - Advertising Card. Advertising card for Robertson's Chocolates. Black and white photograph of two children at a small table sampling chocolates. There is a small dog standing on the table. There is a caption at the bottom of the photograph "Where Do I Come In?". The clothing of the children has been colour tinted with a light blue. On the back of the card is "Rotary Photo. England" and pencilled in is "$3.00 FC Mar 7391". The card measures 8.5cm x 13.5cm.

Donor purchased objects from various collectors and antique retailers between 1993 and 1997.

Nugget Shoe Polish - Game Board -- [192-?]. Advertising game board for the Nugget Shoe Polish Company. On the outside of the board has an illustration of a container of Nugget Shoe Polish and the rules to the game. The board flips open to the playing surface which is a circus theme. The board was printed in England and designed Basil Reynolds.

Pair of shoes, woman's; wooden sole and heel, metal strips at edges; leather uppers nailed to soles; brown/grey colour; hook-and-eye closure
Object History
These shoes belonged to Minnie Uter (nee Coe). She was born on January 7 1884 in England to Jhon James Coe and Elizabeth Price. came to Canada in 1913, and had the shoes before then. She married George William Uter in 1919 at the age of 35 in Burnaby. George worked as an orderly in a hospital. She died on November 18 1953 at age 69. Upon her death, her address is listed as 6394 Bruce St, Vancouver.
