The jacket neckline has a low collar, that extends into revers, in a V neck shape down to the waistline. It is edged in a lace ruffle, as are the cuffs on the long sleeves. The sleeves have some pleats at the cap to give them a leg o' mutton puff, and a small opening at the cuff seam. The bodice is formed with a panel for each side front and one piece for the back. There is a small section of a gathered drawstring at the centre back near the bottom. The skirt closes with three visible celluloid buttons at the centre back, and flares out at the bottom with five gores. The seams on the jacket and skirt are left unfinished where selvedges are not used.
