Description: The Jesse and Martha Love Farmhouse - Leaflet -- [1998]. Information leaflet for the opening of the Jesse and Martha Love farmhouse. The front of the leaflet has a sepia toned photograph of Jesse Love standing in front of the garden, Martha Love and one of their daughters standing on the porch of the house. Inside, there is a picture of the reproduced wallpaper and information regarding the house. On the back of the leaflet is the City of Burnaby logo for Parks, Recreation and Cultural Services. The leaflet measures 18cm x 13.5cm.

Object History: This artifact was used at the official opening of the Love Farmhouse exhibit, November 29, 1998; for distribution.

Description: Brackman-Ker Milling Co - Envelope -- [1901?]. Envelope addressed in ink to "Mr. J. Love" in "City". The envelope was sent by Brackman-Ker Milling Company, Manufacturers and Dealers in Flour, Grain, Meals, Etc on Front Street, New Westminster. There is a green stamp on the top right corner of King Edward VII and a post mark stamp just below "NEW --/ FE 4/ 01/ B.C.". Handwritten in pencil on the reverse side is "Your Father Wants to see you here, J.L.". The envelope measures 14.5cm x 8.5cm.

Object History: object was found in the Jesse Love farmhouse when moved to the Museum.

Scope and Content: Track 1: This portion of the recording pertains to Albert’s family background and how his family came to live in the Love house. He mentions the house on Newcombe Street where he was born and recalls that his family moved to the Love family farmhouse on Cumberland Road in Burnaby to live with his grandfather after his grandmother’s death. Albert notes that his family purchased the house and property after Jesse Love’s death and continued living in it. He describes the house’s amenities and changes which were made to it. He and Jim Wolf discuss the locations and appearances of the various outbuildings on the property.

History: Recording is an interview with Albert Parker about the Love family house, which was his family’s home and which has been relocated to the Burnaby Village Museum site as an exhibit. Scope and Content: Photograph of members of the Love family kneeling in a strawberry field. Left to right: Jesse Love (father), Leonard, Phoebe, Martha, Minnie, Martha Love (mother), and Sarah. The small building at the extreme left of the picture was George Love's (oldest of the Love's children) first sash and door outlet. He later built Love's Sash and Door Factory on the south side of Edmonds Street just west of 6th Street. The original farm was located in East Burnaby, on Cumberland Road. In 1988, this house was moved to the site of the Burnaby Village Museum at Deer Lake Avenue.
