- Wood shield with the Regimental insignia of the Seaforth Highlanders of Canada. "Presented to SEAFORTH SCHOOLHOUSE / from SEAFORTH HIGHLANDERS OF CANADA / April 10, 1987" engraved on plate at top of plaque. "CUIDICH'N RIGH" on ribbon at base of insignia. 'SEAFORTH HIGHLANDERS OF CANADA", on ribbon at bottom of plaque.
- Object History
- The plaque was presented to Burnaby Village Museum in April 1987 to commemorate the opening of Seaforth School as a museum exhibit. Seaforth School was originally built in the Lozells neighbourhood in North Burnaby in 1922, on Government Road at Piper Avenue. In 1983, the school was moved to its current site on the grounds of the Burnaby Village Museum and it remains a protected heritage building in Burnaby.
