The letter is written on stationery with the letterhead "CANADIAN PACIFIC RAILWAY COMPANY" and references "... Colin's letter dated June 26". Colin is writing from hospital after being wounded while laying communication cable from the Normandy beachhead on June 8, 1944 (two days after D-Day).
