Miss Leigh spoke to all the girls at the ceremony. Miss Leigh arrived from England in 1913 and by 1914 at the age of 17 years, Miss Leigh went forward to officially register the 1st Burnaby Guide Company. Miss Mennie was a guide with the 1st Burnaby Guide Company and soon after became a Guide Leader with Miss Leigh.
