Letters from Colin Fox were written during his initial training in Edmonton and while serving overseas with his unit, the 13th Field Regiment , 44th Canadian Field Battery of the Royal Canadian Artillery and later as part of the 78th Canadian Field Battery.

Map was produced prior to the Second World War [pre-Munich International Boundary lines]. Map depicts approximately 47 N to 55 N and from 3E to 22E. The country of Germany sits at the centre of the map bordered by Holland, Belgium and France to the west; Switzerland, Austria and Hungary to the south; Lithuania, Poland, Czechoslavakia, Hungary and Romania to the east and Denmark and the Baltic Sea to the north. Annotations in green ink on the map mark areas of Germany that were bombed during World War Two and were added by Royal Canadian Air Force First Officer Joseph (Joe) H. Corsbie during his service.

- Item consists of a handwritten air mail letter from Sergeant Colin Rhodes Fox of the Royal Canadian Artillery Service to his aunt Marianne "May" Bateman while serving overseas during World War II. Colin Fox served in the 13th Canadian Field Regiment with the 44th and 78th Canadian Field Battery. In his letter, Colin thanks May for a registered letter containing a neck chain; how the troops are advancing on the Germans each day and of how the people were glad to see them when they crossed the Rhine into Holland.

In his letter, Colin thanks May for her last letter; he tells of how he's been in touch with his younger brother Allan who is unhappy that he's too young to go overseas; wonders about the war in Japan and whether he'll volunteer after the war is over in Europe; he conveys that he is part of the Third Division and that they are going to get a new insignia patch with a rat in the centre due to their division nickname "the water rats" resulting from time spent fighting in the flooded areas.

- Item consists of an air mail letter written by Sergeant Colin Rhodes Fox of the Royal Canadian Artillery Service to his aunt Marianne "May" Bateman while serving overseas during World War II. Colin Fox served in the 13th Canadian Field Regiment, 44th Canadian Field Battery. In his letter, Colin reflects on Christmas dinner and how he celebrated New Years Eve. He also tells of how they put on a party for two hundred and fifty kids in town. The men in service made a bunch of toys and saved candy and chocolate bars from their parcels to gift to the children and one of them handed them out while dressed as Santa Clause. He tells of how he's going on leave again this month and thanks his aunt for gifts that she sent.
