Item consists of a typewritten letter from Sergeant Colin Rhodes Fox of the Royal Canadian Artillery Service while serving overseas during World War II. Colin Fox served in the 13th Canadian Field Regiment, 44th Canadian Field Battery. (The letter may have been transcribed by someone from an original written by Colin. The letter is addressed to "Folks", meaning his parents, Ernest Denby and Jessie (nee Bateman) Fox. Colin is writing from hospital after being wounded while laying communication cable from the Normandy beachhead on June 8, 1944 (two days after D-Day). Colin describes his four gunshot wounds and how he succumbed to them.
