George Leaf's General Store, located at 7745 Sixth Street is visible on the left and Cliff's Car Factory located at 7730 Sixth Street is visible on the right. George Leaf's store burned down in 1913. The Car factory was established in 1902 and sometime in the 1920s, it became James Brookes Woodworking Plant.

Scope and Content: Photograph of McMurray family members standing in front of a wood house. An accompanying note identifies the photograph as: "McMurray family outside the 'old Gilley Ranch' which they bought in 1906. This property had previously been used by Gilley Brothers Logging Company as a bunkhouse site and resting place for the horses engaged in heavy logging work. The woods around this house were crossed and re-crossed by skid roads at this time. Note the stove pipe through the roof of the house. There were no fire regulations then." Identified, left to right: Jack McMurray, Minnie McMurray, Murdoch McMurray, and Robert McMurray (father).
