- This artifact has been passed down to all the girls in subsequent generations of the family, eventually to the donor, Mrs. Whiting. This series of 26 "Elsie" girls books are said, by the donor, to have been purchased by Jesse Love and his son in law Wallace (Flash) Whiting for the youngest of Jesse and Martha Love's children Hannah Victoria (Girlie) Love, age 10 at the time, and Annie (Love) Whiting's daughter Edith, age 8 at the time. The book series seems to have made their way through some of Jesse Love's daughter's children. Mrs. Whiting. Sarah (Love) Parker, daughter of Jesse Love, even named her daughter Elsie (Parker) Hughes after the main character of the series. The books seem to have made their way through the children and grand children of Annie (Love) and Wallace Whiting. The were donated by Edna Whiting, the daughter in law of Alfred Whiting, one of Annie's sons.

- In in on inside of book "Geo Jeffery" "Central Park". George Jeffery served as a Constable on the Burnaby Police Force from 1912 - 1935. His patrolled the large Central Park District by foot, stretching from Boundary to Royal Oak and Marine Drive to Moscrop. Over the coarse of his duties, Constable Jeffery saw the need for recreational activities in the area. He founded the Burnaby Athletic Association which featured a competitive boxing ring and gym. In 1935, when the Burnaby Police became the British Columbia Provincial Police, rather than leave the community he chose to leave the force. George Jeffery then worked at the nearby Oakalla Prison Farm until retiring in 1945.

- Antique Dealer is from Courtenay BC. He had acquired this book in that area. The rest of the set was missing. This single volume was spotted in a Burnaby Antique Show by Curator Colin Stevens at a table rented by Bluechicken Antiques of Courtenay. After determining that it was identical to the volume missing from our set, it was purchased. The set we have is HV975.70, and was acquired from Ivan Sayers. He had acquired his set in Alberta.
