- Item is a scrapbook complied by Gladys Killip which documents the organization of events for the "100 / Centennial / Burnaby Diamond Jubilee." Included in the scrapbook are Burnaby Council of Women committee meeting minutes, newspaper clippings and pamphlets. Glayds Killip was the Burnaby Council of Women Publicity Co-Chairwoman. In this capacity she helped to organize such events as the "100 Years of Progress in Women's Activities, Arts and Crafts" for the Centennial Celebration. The Burnaby Council of Women was formed in 1961 and was composed of representatives from women’s organizations within the municipality and was a chapter of the International Council of Women for the purpose of working towards better legislation at the municipal, provincial and federal level.
