- File consists of correspondence, notes, research and reports created by and collected by Mabel Hawkshaw between 1928 and 1938. The majority of the file consists of records pertaining to Mabel's work as the Censor of Moving Pictures in British Columbia (1928-1931), her work as a writer and newspaper editor and her work as Provincial Representative of the Imperial Order of the Daughters of the Empire "I.O.D.E." for the League of Nations Society. Other correspondence includes two letters addressed to Mabel's sons Cedric Hawkshaw in 1972, the other (a photocopy) addressed to Mr. E.D.B. (Dal) Hawkshaw 1970 (date of original) from New Brunswick Provincial Archives regarding the naming of village of Hawkshaw, New Brunswick.
