She discusses the changes to chores, such as doing laundry, which occurred as the family adopted new technologies. Jean talks about her siblings, and the relativity of age. She recalls the birth of her younger brother, at home. She describes her parents’ backgrounds and how they met, after immigrating to Vancouver, as part of a close-knit Irish community.
